MIA? , and a Weekly Wall Calendar

Wow, I can hardly believe how quickly time goes! Summer is Finally here and I have sooo many projects I want to do and share with you!!! But I have been working a lot, and frankly finding time to create has not been on the top of my list, wait list, that's part of the problem... I have been quite list free... Wow I am getting back on track, starting with a fresh list!

But I sure don't want to leave you hanging wondering what in the world I was painting, so here it is the finished wall Calendar...

It is a dry erase on each one, because dry erase works on glass!
how cool is that?!!
I really like it! and it helps keep all the schedules where everyone can see!

I have lots more to do, and I plan on talking to you soon! I know, you missed me, but don't worry, lots of projects to come!!!
In the mean time, take lots of pictures of all the wonderful summer activities so you have memories to display!

I can't help it, I get distracted by shiny things...

Altered Art Dresser

Hello All! Well, it worked. I put my list out there and now
I am so excited to get things done and share them with you.
Yes, I know right now it seems like they are more decorating projects,
but I always seem to need scrapbook paper somewhere in my projects!
Here is the latest, and I even took pictures as I worked this time!
Hope you like it as much as I do.

But First, A reminder of what it looked like when I started.

And Here is my lovely new Dresser, that I LOVE!!!

When I started this piece, I wanted to paint it all black,
but that was just way too dark, so
I wanted to come up with something to lighted it up a bit.

Scrapbook paper is only 12" wide, so that means I would have to have
seams along the drawer fronts.
That was just not the look I wanted, so I got to thinking,
"How would I avoid the seams when I scrapbook large frames?"
by covering the seams with torn paper or ribbon.
So, I got to work tearing paper...
What paper would look best? I started laying it all out to help me decide.
I just did not have enough of the right colors, so off to Crafty Paradise I went.
And as soon as I walked in the door... there it was
the perfect combination of colors, and patterns!!!! wooo hooo!

Then I modge podged my little heart out! and only messed up once.
Lucky for me I over buy in paper... the only thing left to do was add drawer pulls.
You know what that means... another trip out, this time to Hobby Lobby
only the BEST place to get knobs, and pulls, and hooks, and
almost any awesome decorating do dad like that!!!
After debating and talking with my sister on the phone
while standing staring at all the options... here is what I picked...

The little ones for the smaller drawers on top, and the larger for the ones on bottom.
One more time for the finished piece...

I am sooo happy with the way this turned out! And I would love to hear from you too!! comment

We All miss the Castle don't we.

For so many of you it was a place to stop in, talk and chat,
relax, or pick up some supplies.
Many of you needed some inspiration, direction,
or just for me to pick it all out for you.

What I miss the most is all of You.
Yes, the connection I made with each and everyone of you

owning and running the Castle.
One of my very best of friends, is without a doubt,
 Patty Marks.
She came into the shop, and we just clicked.
She is the hardest working person I have ever met.
She started helping me, and keeping me focused.
I taught her how to pick out papers, and
how to be a more positive person (her words).
She loved the atmosphere of the shop and said
it just made a difference to her life and so many others.
Through time and work we have taught each other a lot
about art, scrapbooking, friendship, and more.

All that to say, I am so proud of Patty.

Everything is going to be OK #8

I know I went out of order with this one,
but I wasn't sure I was going to share it.
It is very meaningful to me, and close to my heart.
I have always felt like such a positive person.
I always try to find the goodness God has placed on this earth.
Sometimes, you really have to let God lead you.
We don't always feel like sunshines and rainbows. God never promised us that.
The world is full of pain and sorrow, but you don't have to be stuck in those feelings.
You can let the goodness of God's light shine through you
so that others can see the rainbow.

Sometimes, you are what other people need.
Remember that, and be their rainbow.
When I started this piece, it was really dark, and sad.
I worked on it in moments of torment and pain.
But I know that pain will go and I will remain.
I want to be that girl, that rainbow girl.
I did not want to leave this piece with despair, but with hope.
So, I added the girl, the girl that shines with a light wherever she is.
No matter how dark and scary the world may become, she is hope.

I Can Sew!

Even though I didn't blog much in Dec. I still worked on a few projects!
I was all prepared to do a great tutorial on the new stockings I made!
I even took the before pictures! I know, I always get to excited to make a project,
and forget the before pics. This time I did it, but can you believe
I can not find the pics anywhere!!!
So, you just get the finished project! hahahh!

I bought shirts, from goodwill and made new Christmas Stockings!
It was so much fun, and a little frustrating, but I did it! and love it!
What do you think?

When I found this little red dress, I knew the fabric was perfect for a stocking!
and the green with little white polka dots was just tooo sweet!

This one is Logan's, he wanted to make sure it was not girly at all!

Okay, so honestly, I was down to the day before Christmas Eve,
and Had to get this one done.  I rushed it a bit, but I still like it!

Hope you enjoyed this fun little project!
