Everything is going to be OK #6 & #7

WOW how I've missed you all!  I have been so more than busy lately!
and now it is the Holiday Season, which just means there is less time in the day right?!
I have had a chance to do some creating, just haven't made the time to show it off.
I miss sharing with you. So, here are a few new pages for my book.
Sorry there is only one pic of each....

I love the wrinkled old map look. It is really easy to get this look with any pattern paper.
You simple wad the paper up into a ball. Yep, crumple it up like you are going to throw it away.
then unfold it and lay it flat, sand the top so that the color comes off the surface.
How cool is that! I know, I know, now you have to go try it!

and here is a page I just finished today...

Sometimes in life have you ever found yourself in a place that you just don't understand, somewhere you never imagined yourself to be. Maybe, you just need to be reminded that you are where you are suppose to be. You might not know why yet, but God has a plan for you, and maybe able to learn from this, or use this experience in your life to help others. Trust in God, focus on him, and know you can get through it.

Spa Birthday

Okay, so sometimes you just have to make a pink and girly page....
and a spa birthday is a perfect time to do just that!
some of you might have seen this layout, but now I have pictures on it, and that really does make a difference

A long title is a perfect opportunity to mix and match sticker letters! If you can't deal with each letter being different, just make each word different, and then you create a great contrast and interest.

Yes, I actually wrote out my journaling by hand! It doesn't happen often, but it does let me finish a page faster. and writing along the curve is less difficult by hand. It can be done on the computer though.
hahah but once you have your layout done then that is almost impossibe! haha

Everything is going to be OK #5

Well, I am totally using up as many sticker letters as I can! hahah!
This book is going to be full of quotes, sayings, and encouraging words,
so my sticker letter binder is out all the time.
It's a good thing, because it was feeling a bit neglected lately
and just a bit jealous of my printer.
So, now that I am making them play nicely together, I love the result!
Here is #5....

We all need strength, and if we focus on God we have that strength, even to thrive!
I used pop dots in different thicknesses to add layered dimension to the tree branches
and the crystal stickers just make it shine!!

Hope you all know you can thrive too!

Everything is going to be OK #3 & #4

 My Momma always said...

This is really cool because I took the cover of the paper pack to make this page
I just covered up the name of the pack with the yellow strip of paper
then put rub-on letters over top.
The paper already had the writing, which just happen to fit the saying perfectly
Would you believe that I didn't even plan that!!!
I jsut cut around three sides and added the pink to mat it
then put pop dots under the top edge to give it a little layered look.

I thought the color combo was great!!!
yellow is my favorite right now, and I added the yellow last
It was just what this page needed
And I will add a picture of the kids
in the grey square at the top...
What do you think?

Everythings Going to Be OK #1 & #2

So I am now addicted to Pinterest! hahah!
I found this title of a illustrated book 'Everything is going to be OK"
Found it on amazon and almost bought it.
It is so nice to have encouraging words and pictures everyday
But then I thought.....
I should totally make one of my own! it was a real duh moment!

Then I decided I want it to be framed too
more on that later...... wink wink

So, here is the first two mini works of art for my book

These two pages match, but
I can't decide if I want the entire thing to be all matchy matchy you know
You will only see one page at a time, then
I will flip to a new page and look at that for a while.
So, what do you think?
Should the whole book be in colors that mix and match?

Class Kit - Sweet as Summer....

I just love the Dear Lizzy scrapbook line "Neopolitan"
I've had some of the papers for a little while,
I just needed these hot summer days to inspire me to cool off!

The sweet cool colors in this layout do just that,
I can just feel the sweet summer breeze in my hair!
Not to mention, pictures of the kids eating ice cream would be perfect on this page!

Mini banners made from the patterned paper is a great way to add texture
and a fun element to the page. If you felt really creative, you could
add tiny letters on the banner for your title.
hmm... I just might go do that right now!

I couldn't resist adding more banners to the other side of the page too,
and the file folder mat was a great place to do just that.
It really accents this picture and a flower on the side pulls it all together!

Okay, and the jars are just about the most adorable little accent in the world!
It is the perfect place for a name or date or a bit 'o journaling!

Class Kit - July 4th

Have you ever mixed vintage tags into a layout with bright colors?
I just love the way it looks!
It really makes the layout timeless.
Just imagine your fireworks pictures on these pages!!

The blue paper has these great cut outs that mimic the explosions, how cool is that!!!

The fiber and shiny ribbon help continue the contrasting elements of the pages
and add more texture, because you can never have too much texture!

Just tuck your picture under the edge of this ribbon across the mat.
It's a great way to have the dimensional quality we always find to appealing on our layouts.

I just love the layered look of this title!
I don't usually cut my letters out of pattern paper,
but it works great here because of the white around it
that brings the word out from the rest of the elements on the page.

Class Kit - It's all about the FOOD!

Let's face it, what do we do when we get together
for holidays, birthdays, or any celebration......
we EAT of course !!!
So, here is a page all about summer,
and what we do best cook food and eat!!!

This layout is set up for a picnic or bbq,
but would work for any celebration
or even just a cook out!
The words are pre-printed for you,
but if you want different words, you can flip the paper over and write new words
or print new ones on your own its so easy to personalize it that way!
The combination of colors makes this layout so fun
and I must say even a little mouth watering!
 hahah!
By adding the eyelets you are really adding a great textural element to the page,
the metal and the shape of the circles really accent the large circle in the paper!

Can You Come Out an Play? at the Zoo

One of my Favorite summertime adventures....
Going to St. Louis Zoo!

If I lived in the city I would go there everyday!
I could spend hours just watching and sketching the animals!
This Bo Bunny paper line was perfect for this trip!

My family however, wants to see it all and run around as fast as they can!
And I totally love doing it that way too.
and is a great way to get more scrapbooking done on the page.

On this trip it was just me and Logan,
and I was actually able to get him to sit still for a few seconds and snap a few pics!
The old vintage button above was just calling out to be put on this page! and to use hemp
to tie it on is always my favorite look for a zoo page!

The nice thing about it is that I wasn't stuck behind a camera all day,
I took a few shots and then enjoyed the day!

Simple and So Pretty

So sometimes I can't help it and I just have to make a page that is Simple and Girly and Pretty!
Flowers and Frilly paper just make me smile!
Using the pictures of all the girls in the family made for a perfect page for this paper!

I found these handmade crocheted flowers for a $1 - wow
they added the greatest texture to the layout

I have had this frame on my inspiration board for over a year!
It was just waiting for this page!

I just want to show you how you can mix and match different papers
and it doesn't have to be super elaborate to be a great page!
Adding black accents really makes the inked edges pop! It brings it all together!
