My Grandma Bonnie

Well, I have been working on this layout for a while.
It is one of the special pages you just have to get perfect.
So, I worked on it and stared at it for days
adjusting little pieces here and there.
Really taking time to ponder what exactly I wanted to say.
I have these great pictures of when she was younger.
I used her wedding photo, and a great one with her younger sister,
but her prom picture is my favorite.
I wanted to incorporate a picture of what she looked like
the way I remember her too,
so I turned it black and white so it would match the others.
Here is the tribute to my Grandma, I hope you like it...

The Journaling:

"My Grandma Bonnie was always
the epitomy of Grandmaness.
She was always helping others,
sewing, cooking, and handmaking
gifts for all of her grandchildren
Her beauty truly started
on the inside and radiated out
of her entire life.

the strips on top right:
"the key to true beauty starts in the heart"

It is so interesting to me
that I looked just like her younger sister
when I was little.

And, we never realized how much
my sister resembled Grandma Bonnie
until we saw this picture of her
at her senior prom.

Truly, a beautiful lady.

Go for the Layers

Okay, so maybe it's the rainy cold day, or maybe it's what I do
ya know to get into scrappin mood,
but what ever the reason, I love layers!!!
All of these patterns came together in the cosmo cricket packet.
So, it was really easy to put this page together!

I am just drawn to the cute little birds!
But I did not want to do the typical friends page
"Birds of a feather..." and all so I just had fun with it.

I do not have any pictures yet, but that is okay,
I can put any pictures I want on this page.
It is just fun and the colors are soft but the contrast is great.
I could always add some big letters to personalize it for
whatever the specific pictures I do pick.

Where the heck have I been lately!!!

Wow, has it really been almost a month since I posted?  I am soo sorry.
Things have just been busy around here!!!  We went to Florida to visit my Dad.
My sister in law had her twins! A boy and a girl.  My Grandmother passed away (my dad's mom).
We made another trip to Florida.  Lots going on.  And there is so much I want to share with you.
I can hardly decide what to share first.  So, I think I will start with what I have started with.
Sometimes, when I am really emotional I have to start creating with projects that don't matter to me so much
on an emotional level.  I worked up to making a memorial page for my grandma.  I will share it soon.
and now that I am done with it, I want to move on to the twins page. It will be special.
To get the creativeness going...
I altered my bulletin board to look like a scrapbook page.

The one thing I did differently than I have before, is make mats (like you would have for a picture).
You pin your notes just on those spots.  This keeps the whole thing looking nice and not completely covered in crazy layers of papers all over the place. Not to mention the fact that when you keep putting pins all over the place you get holes in the paper all over, which gets ugly after a while.
The mats with the lines on them I placed a piece of clear contact paper over it,
and ta-da it becomes a dry erase spot!!! clever I know!
I still want to put a few more things on it. like along the top edge in the green border I want to put a favorite quote, but I need to pick a favorite quote first! How bout you all share your favorites here!!!
that would be so fun!

Okay I can't wait to show you my new A tooo so here it is
I found this frame at micheals for $1 can you believe it! Score!
It is a 7x7 frame, and the pink is fuzzy!!!
I cut out the letter A with my pazzle. then a circle with green and roughed the edges.
layers of flowers with crystal brads. what a great addition to the collection of A's

Order, Event, & Plans

I know some of you have been jonesin' for my class kits and some new supplies, so now is the time.
I don't have my "shopping cart" up just yet, so let's just order like we did the special orders at the shop.
You email me with what you want (i.e. 2 bottles scrappy glue, or the new basic grey calendar kit) I will email you the prices and we will go from there. I need you to be specific but I can work with themes too.

Events
I have been thinking about having a Twilight Party.
Crop, optional classes, make-n-take, goodies, and watch all the movies before the next one comes out.
I just want some feedback to know if there is any interest.
just email me

I am working on Kits and a scrapbook Club stuff, so excited.....

Because I had nothing better to do...

Well, I have an endless list of things I want to
get done, scrapbook, redo, clean, refinish, sew, cook,
OH wait - I don't cook!! ha ha I just got carried away.
Anyway, I have lots of things to do,
but I got this crazy creative idea.
You know like the kind of idea where
the light bulb goes on over your head!!!
I really mean it, if you were standing next to me
you would have seen it for yourself!
Okay, so I know you are dieing to know what the idea is,
but a little back story first. he he he.

I have been redoing the teeny tiny kitchen in my house
for a while now (NO STILL NOT DONE).
and I picked out these all red glass spice jars
for the glass shelf spice racks I installed a while back.
Okay I am not a cook, so why do I care about the spices?
Well, I like things to look pretty.

and this is what it looked like before

You can see why I felt the urge to make it better.
but these jars were not on the need list
or even high up on the want list
mostly because they were gonna cost me a pretty penny
and by that I mean like $100 for how many I needed.
I know craaaazzzy.
So, no I do not have them. but i do have paper........

so, this is what they look like now!!
What do you think?

I just made labels and cut them out with a circle punch
then glued the paper and label on.
finally, so that they don't get all nasty from cooking
I wrapped clear contact paper around all of it.

I make the labels smaller for these little jars at the bottom
I had to buy about 12 red pepper seasonings to get all the red lids
and only 4 sheets of paper
I used scrappy glue to make sure it stuck!
So, total cost about $16
How awesome is that!!!

Sparkle & Shine

Okay, so do you ever just get into that creative groove, you know
where you can finish like a ton of layouts because everything just falls into place
and it all works out just the way you pictured it in your head? well, I love this layout soo much
I couldn't wait any longer to show you!!!
I have bling, glitter, layers, lots of ribbon, chipboard,
and I LOVE  IT !!!

the white strips of paper I typed the definition of the words sparkle and shine.

You can't see it very well, I tried sooo many shots to get the black glitter to show up in this pic, but no luck!
the word sparkle, sparkles (clever I know.  ha ha)  done with black glitter,
I used black stickers -- ran out of A's (imagine that)
and made one with an upside down V and number 1. then used scrappy glue and black glitter.

the shine word is with chipboard letters from chatterbox
that have a black on black swirl, the swirl is shiny of course.  (big cheesy smile)

Now, the flowers were a bit of a challenge. if I were to put a brad through it would be fine, but I had these really big yellow crystal stickers, but the flowers are four layers of petals and apparently i am too cheap to use up all my glue dots. So, here's a quick and easy solution-- I stapled them together then glued the paper circle to cover and gem on top! ta da you have a very layered flower on the cheap.

the chipboard frame was just calling for some more bling, but any way I turned it, it hung over the frame.
well, if I stuck it down like that it would warp into the contour of the layers. so, I trimmed around and left some of the bling on the clear backing then the rest stuck on to the frame. It worked great!

I love it when you leave comments, I miss you all so much!
when you leave a comment, it makes me smile! and I feel like we are all still connected! Thanks!!!

My not so little Man

So, when Logan was just a little guy it was so easy for me to scrapbook pages for him.
The pages could be cute because he was so cute.
But, if you call him cute now it is like an insult.
Now, the pages have to be cool and awesome!
not too many ribbons,
watch your patterns (it better not even resemble anything with flowers).
oh, and anything with metal is okay!

This can be challenging, because we want to add embellishments!
My go-to is ribbon and flowers, so with boys I have to be creative.
What do you think?
Do you have any suggestions for great boy pages?
Leave your comment and let us all know.
