Happy Heart Day

I've never been one to decorate for the holidays, except Christmas.
Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of holidays, Valentine's is one of my fave's
Come on who could not love a day all about love and chocolate

So, I've been playing around with banners.
I made one for Christmas I'll show you another day
But today I want to show you the banner I made last night, spur of the moment in honor of heart day...

the background shape looks black in the pic but it is a really pretty dark grey
I found this card in my scrap stuff and thought a vintage look was awesome!
I used glimmer mist red on the hearts and letters, but it just wasn't enough sparkle
so I used loose glitter
How do you attach loose glitter you may wonder...
My first go to for this project would be to use spray adhesive all over the letters
then transfer to a fresh piece of paper and sprinkle glitter on top. moving quickly
because the glue dries fast.  But...
I am out of spray adhesive -argh!!!
and it was one in the morning. and I am so not running to wally world
in a snow storm for glue (this time)
So, I busted out the best glue EVER
Scrappy Glue
Spreading glue and sprinkling glitter one letter at a time
Then I found this old vintage postcard of Paris
and had to use it!!!

I thought about using more embellishments, but sometimes less is more....
hope you like it
and have a wonderful Day of LOVE!

page on the wall and alterd art

Sometimes it takes someone else to tell you what you need to do.
But I am so excited sometimes to start a new project that I forget to take a before picture.
So, imagine this picture with just a plain dot pattern and
two folded flowers in opposite corners(that didn't match my decor).
Well, my sister made a passing comment "I'm surprised you haven't remade that yet"
and that's all it took...

I had to alter this picture to match.  Actually it inspired the main picture
then I added the flowers, ribbon,  birdcage stamp, and chipboard stickers

here is the way they work together on the wall by my front door.
I really love it!
Now I need to make one with a picture of Logan.

Lots of Love,

Altered Jewelery Box

I altered an old jewelery box of Madison's for a friend of mine.
and this is the story of this project

It turned out Great,
but it wasn't an easy project like I imagined...

It started out like this...

I had to mix the pink paint to get the right color, and it took lots of coats of paint
So,of course I ran out before the doors were painted, and didn't have anymore to mix, oops!
So, I had to come up with something to do with the doors...

Wow,  what a happy accident! I think the door look great with purple!
the doors had really ugly plastic inserts, so they had to go!
I made these with pretty pattern papers that incorporated both pink and purple.
Then, the handles on the door had broken, so I had to come up with another idea for handles
I used some vintage earrings and cut a hole in the center of each and painted all the handles black.
then used a screw to hold it all to the door.

So, there is my not so quick, quick altered art for a gift.
But it really was fun!
And so totally cute ~ I almost wanted to keep it!!!

Lots of Love,

"Logan" Altered Letters

I have lots to share with you! So, sorry for so many posts in one day. But It is Worth It!!!

It was really hard to decide what do decorate the letters with.
Logan loves star wars and Legos but,  I wanted the letters to last as he gets older.
This is what I came up with!!! I am so excited.
Now, I have to redo Logan's Room...

I'll add a pic of Logan's newly decorated room when I get it done!

Lots of Love,
